Project Background

Tallow Enterprise Group CLG is a Company Limited by guarantee with charitable status, supervised by a voluntary Board of Directors of six volunteers. The town and surrounding hinterland of Tallow suffered serious economic and social setbacks in the late 1980’s.  In response to these setbacks a group of residents came together to see what they could do about the situation. From this group emerged Tallow Enterprise Group. The company has been established in Tallow since 1986, supporting rural development in the catchment area. Its headquarters are in Nora Herlihy House, West Street, Tallow, Co. Waterford. Nora Herlihy House, home of Tallow Training and Enterprise Centre is fully owned by Tallow Enterprise Group.

The overall aim of Tallow Enterprise Group is to provide facilities for the educational, economic, cultural, and social advancement of all the people in the Tallow community & surrounding areas. In conjunction with Blackwater Valley Economic Development Zone (BVEDZ) group we are working to develop four smart working spaces in the West Waterford area and now our ‘own door office space’ designed by Kenneth Hennessey Architects (www.kharchitects.ie) is ready for its first tenants.
